It’s no surprise that winter sports are popular in the Rocky Mountain State given the nearly Arctic weather for a large portion of the year. An NHL-sized sheet of ice is available for skating indoors at the Greeley Ice Haus. It is located in Colorado’s Front Range, in the heart of Greeley. It is open all year long and provides a range of events, including figure skating, youth and adult hockey, and open skating instruction.
Popular winter sports include hockey, skating, snowmobiling, and downhill and cross-country skiing. A number of youth hockey leagues and skating organizations are held at the year-round Ice Haus, which is located on 8th Avenue close to downtown. There are frequently public free-skate periods as well.
It’s a terrific location to unwind and watch a hockey game for those who would rather not risk life and limb on the rink. A pro shop and snack bar are also present.
